Making a musical journey together
Making a musical journey together

Musicalvaneu is a new kind of festival held in Alvaneu (municipality of Albula/Alvra). Its aim is to bring people together and make them happy.
Musicalvaneu is a new kind of festival held in Alvaneu (municipality of Albula/Alvra). Its aim is to bring people together and make them happy.
The festival seeks to offer a combination of classical, contemporary and folk music that will appeal to all the senses and to people of all ages.
We are delighted to welcome the French composer Bernard Cavanna as our “composer in residence” for the first edition of the festival. Alongside two of his own solo works, he has also arranged several of the pieces in the programme—from Franz Schubert and Béla Bartók to traditional music—for this year’s performers.
A distinct model of agriculture has shaped the village of Alvaneu and the surrounding landscape, which is deservedly part of Parc Ela, Switzerland’s largest nature park.
The concert venues are everyday places such as cowsheds, barns and workshops, but the church and the school will also host performances. We want to bring music out of the concert hall into a living, breathing environment: the backdrop contributes to the impact and atmosphere of each concert.
